This series is called Cross Words.  Today I will be bringing to you the first part of the series Cross Words, with the lesson in

"PARDONED"

Can you imagine, just for a moment that you were betrayed by EVERY single one of your followers?  Those who followed you not only ate with you, sat in homes with you, drank with you and given power to you to perform miracles?  Then to have all of those very said same people turn their backs on you? How would you feel? What would you do? How would you handle that?

Luke 23:34 Jesus  said, "Father, forgive these  people, because they don't know what they are doing."  And he soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.

Crossword #1   PARDON
A pardon is-
  • To release a person from punishment: to forgive
  • Exemption from punishment granted by an official with the authority over a legal case.
In 2 Timothy4:1 Paul said that Christ judges the living and the dead.
In 1 Peter 4:5 Peter said that everyone will have to give account for the one judging.
In Acts 10:37-43 Luke said that Christ did nothing but good yet he was killed and left to hang on a tree
  • Does "them" include the Roman soldiers?  The Roman soldiers gave Christ 39 lashes, of which they all pulled out FLESH! Those soldiers were trained executioners that knew how to kill with pain, they stabbed Christ in the side.
  • Does "them" include the religious "Jews"?  The same ones that ridiculed him, that stripped him naked, put him to shame publicly, that preferred to let the notorious, well known prisoner Barabbas free and keep Jesus to be crucified.
  • Does "them" include His disciples and Peter?  The disciples followed him for 3 YEARS! Thats a long time to pick up and leave your family to spread the gospel with someone to then abandon and deny him. They scattered away when he was being arrested, in the most difficult time (to date) of his life, Peter denied him 3 times before the cock crowed.
Mark 16:5-7 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.  :Don't be alarmed," he said.  "you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.  He has risen!  He is not here.  See the place where they laid him.  But go, tell his disciples and Peter.  'He is going ahead of you into Falilee.  There you will see him, just as he told you.'"

Revelation 13:8  All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast---all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.  *In the end of days many shall be deceived.
  • "Them" includes us all!  There is no mistake because we all sin.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God
Romans 6:23 The wages for sin is --- death.
Romans 5:6-10
Ephesians 2:8-9
2 Peter 3:9-11 God is not being slow on his promise to return.  He is giving enought time for his people to repent.  But it will come and when it does BE READY!!!!!
