THE DEAF OUTRAGED BY 'FAKE' INTERPRETER AT MANDELA'S MEMORIAL

This man, Thamsanqa Jantjie appeared to be translating the memorial of Nelson Mandela to the hearing impaired but from the swarm of negative back lashing from all social media, he really wasn't.  The memorial was televised and viewed by millions of people worldwide.  Within the first 10 minutes of his 'interpretation' he was deemed a 'fake', unidentified and making up his own signs by the South Africa's Deaf Federation.  Fake interpreter? Unidentified? MAKING UP HIS OWN SIGNS? I'm sorry but this man was close enough to lean over and literally kiss the president of the United States, the first black president, MY PRESIDENT!! Who's in charge of things like this?  Isn't this a security breach? How in the HELL could the interpreter for such an important memorial be UNIDENTIFIED by the South African Deaf Federation?
Mr. Jantijie has been interviewed by the Associated Press and claims that his excuse for making this 'mistake' was that he was hallucinating.  He hallucinated that angels were entering the stadium and he suffered from schizophrenia.  He goes on to say that he has been hospitalized in a mental health facility for over a year and didn't want to panic because there were armed policemen around him.

Hear nah, if I were to see ANGELS I didn't care WHO was around me.  I would have dropped on my knees and start praying to my Father God, in Jesus' name. I would have felt BLESSED to know that the Lord is ALLOWING me to see his angels.  I would have felt at peace and not fearful.  I don't know what to say about this man in all honesty but what I WILL say is that the head of security for this memorial event dropped the ball.  His/her team and all involved in it.  All who were responsible for background checks and whoever recommended him for this position and the fool who hired him for the job I am sure thousands have wanted. The resume of Mr. Jantijie wasn't long, nor was it impressive and I am pretty sure that being in a mental institution for a year is noticeable enough to have had him excluded from the job pool.
*Wilma Newhoudt, Twitter name @newhoudt is the first deaf person to be elected to the South African Parliament and is the vice president of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD).  She also tweeted that he was signing "rubbish" and added: "He cannot sign. Please get him off."
