CELEBRATING THE JOURNEY

PARENTING
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a real blessing.  Psalm 127:3; Malachi 2:15

God wants Godly children and He entrusts us to raise them that way.

These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to take care of their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands.  Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. - Titus 2:4-5
Proverbs 22:6
Proverbs 226
Proverbs 23:13-14
Proverbs 19:18
If you do not punish your children, you don't love them, but if you love your children, you will correct them. - Proverbs 13:24

Every child is full of foolishness, but punishment can get rid of it. -Proverbs 22:15

4 KEYS TO HELP US DISCIPLINE OUR CHILDREN:

  • Discipline in LOVE.
Fathers, DON'T exasperate your children by coming down hard on them.  Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master - Ephesians 6:4
  • Be consistent, clear and calm!
Say what you mean and mean what you say.
James 4:8
Matthew 5:37 (let your yes be yes, let your no be no)
James 5:12
My dear brothers and sisters, be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.  Your anger can never make things right in God's sight. - James 1:19-20 *Getting angry doesn't get things right at home OR with God. *GOD GIVES YOU TWO EARS AND ONE MOUTH ON PURPOSE!!!
  • Discipline immediately! - Ephesians 4:26-27 Don't use your anger to fuel your revenge.  Don't hold on to stuff, deal with it immediately so you can let it go.
  • Discipline for obedience! - Hebrews 12:5-11

*Proverbs 23:13-14

A little spanking won't kill em
matter fact
it WILL save their lives!!
